Legal Curatorship
In its classic concept, curatorship involves the careful selection and organization of the works of each item to be exhibited, in accordance with museology standards and the institutional objectives of the institution that practices it.
At the EXEA Museum, classic curatorship is accompanied by the verification of copyright ownership, a fundamental process to ensure that the virtual presentation of exhibitions occurs ethically, transparently, and in compliance with the Intellectual Property Law and other relevant regulations.
This process seeks to ensure that the museum has the necessary permissions for the reproduction, distribution, and public display of the works in the digital environment. Additionally, legal curatorship includes the analysis of accessibility, ensuring that the virtual exhibition can be enjoyed by a widely diverse audience, including people with visual impairment or low vision, color blindness, and hearing impairment, through the provision of resources such as audio descriptions, subtitles, and navigable interfaces for assistive technologies and various types of devices.
Another crucial aspect is the data protection of virtual exhibition visitors. Legal curatorship ensures that the collection, storage, and use of personal information comply with current privacy and data protection laws. This includes the implementation of clear and transparent privacy policies, as well as security measures to protect data against unauthorized access.
By prioritizing legal curatorship, the museum demonstrates its commitment to respecting intellectual property, inclusion, and privacy, fostering a safe and reliable digital environment for authors and holders of related rights, visitors, and the community in general. This care contributes to the integrity of the virtual exhibition and to the institution's reputation in the cultural and social innovation landscape.
