About us

Who are we?

When did it all start?

What shapes our work?

The EXEA Maritime Virtual Museum is a permanent, non-profit institution dedicated to society and its development. Open 24/7, it promotes the preservation and exhibition of the Atlantic's maritime heritage.

The EXEA Museum guides its actions based on four verbs: Research, Preserve, Educate, and Publish. In each of these, we seek 'Inclusion', democratizing access to knowledge.

Founded on March 1, 2021, the history and operation of the EXEA Museum were presented in the Bulletin of the Portuguese Centre for Geo-History and Prehistory that same month (click here).
