NEW EXHIBITION

The exhibition celebrates the "peixeira" or "saltadoiro", traditional fishing art for catching mullet in the Ria de Aveiro/Portugal, practiced by Ti Manel Viola and Alfredo.

Maritime Cultural Heritage

The Museu Marítimo EXEA works with tangible heritage (vessels, material culture...) and intangible heritage (language, lifestyle, navigation, division of labor, superstitions, music, dances) born from human interaction with the Atlantic Ocean.

Curiosity

The Museu Marítimo EXEA was founded in March 2021, but it began to be conceived in 2015, being the result of two academic works at the Universidade de Coimbra: a dissertation and a thesis.
