Connecticut River vessels (replica of Turtle submarine, "Jetsam" dinghy), Thomas A. Stevens Library, oral histories and videos of the river.

16,000 artifacts (including period furniture, paintings, photos, first editions).

Main Exhibitions

On The Great River (history of the river from Indigenous peoples to early 19th century); "The River That Connects Us" (resources of the Connecticut Valley); "The Vertical Gallery" (Russell Buckingham mural covering the 410 miles of the river). Annual exhibitions: "Steve Cryan's Holiday Train Show"; "The Eagles of Essex".

Observations

Offers public cruises, educational programs, and special events. Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
