Museum Characteristics
An open-air museum located at the La Rábida site. Its main attraction are the life-size replicas of the three ships used by Christopher Columbus on his first voyage to the Americas: the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa María.

The main exhibition is the immersive experience of boarding the replica caravels and exploring the recreated medieval port.
Observations
The replicas were built for the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America in 1992 and the museum was inaugurated on March 15, 1994. It is a major tourist attraction in the "Lugares Colombinos" (Columbian Sites) area.
