Easternmost Point of the Americas, April 19, 2025
The Exea Museum is pleased to announce the relaunch of its exhibition "To the Sound of Steamships," which will be part of the program for World Intellectual Property Day, celebrated annually by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on April 26th.
The initiative is promoted by the Technological Innovation Center (NIT) of the Federal Rural University of the Semi-Arid Region (UFERSA) and aligns with the global theme "Music."
This special edition of "To the Sound of Steamships" marks the revitalization of the Exea Museum and invites the public on a unique sensory journey through the Age of Steamships. Through a careful curation of evocative sound elements – such as the hiss of steam engines, locomotive whistles, and the sound of the sea – and detailed descriptions, the exhibition aims to provide an immersive and, above all, inclusive experience.
Blind visitors will have the opportunity to "visualize" and appreciate the atmosphere and historical importance of this period through a differentiated sensory access.
The choice of the "To the Sound of Steamships" exhibition to celebrate World Intellectual Property Day, with a focus on "Music," highlights the importance of sound as a form of cultural expression and intangible heritage.
The Exea Museum invites the entire community to experience this enriching sensory experience and to reflect on the role of intellectual property in promoting culture and inclusion.
