Launch | ATLANTICUS: EXEA MUSEUM JOURNAL

7/4/22, 6:30 PM

This first volume consists of five articles on various themes, two from Archaeology analyzing shipwrecks in Ceará and Santa Catarina, and three others from History, analyzing the history and function of Fortaleza de Santa Catarina in Cabedelo-PB, in coastal protection, Paraiban cotton trade during the 19th century, and the concerns of the Iberian Crown in defending the Strait of Magellan against Sir Francis Drake's attacks in the 16th century.

In addition to these articles, volume 1 also included an entry briefly telling the history of caravels, ships that played a major role in Luso-Spanish expeditions in the 15th and 16th centuries; a timeline of museum activities between 2021 and 2022, and a technical report on rubber bales from German ships of World War II.

Thus, I invite everyone to embark on this journey of knowledge, come aboard, weigh anchor, cast off the lines, hoist the sails. Spread the word about Atlanticus to the four winds and the seven seas. Enjoy your reading.
